The RC Morning Report
August 15, 2012
The California Highway Patrol responded to a fatal rollover accident at Highway 395 and Tioga Pass Road south of Lee Vining at 2:30 a.m. today. We should also hear who the victims were in the fatal east of Dayton on Tuesday morning today.
Indian Hills General Improvement District trustees meet 6 p.m. tonight. The only action item on the agenda is a bid for landscaping on the Valley Vista Phase II park project by Legends Landscaping. However, District Manager John Lufrano will no doubt talk about the recent boil water order during his report.
In addition to dumping some rain, the thunderstorms left some presents for firefighters in the form of fires. There was a single-tree fire at the mouth of Buffalo Canyon in the Pine Nuts reported at 10:18 a.m. On Tuesday afternoon, strikes started small fires in Hope Valley and at Red Lake in Alpine County. Nothing appears to have escaped being extinguished, so far.
Today’s forecast calls for scattered showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. with otherwise partly sunny skies. It will be pretty still where there aren’t storms. Expect a high around 92 degrees and a low of 57.
