The R-C Morning Report for Nov. 27
December 2, 2013
A reminder that The R-C will be closed Thursday for Thanksgiving. I notice many supermarkets have hours on Thanksgiving, and of course the Black Friday stuff will start around 5 p.m. Thursday at the big box stores. If you’ve got business with the government that won’t wait until December, better to conduct it today, since most offices are closed Friday, too.
It was a scary October for Stateline casinos, which saw a 22.5 percent decrease in gaming revenues during the month compared to October 2012. The Tahoe casinos raked in $12.29 million during the month, far less than the $15.8 million last year. While the main source of Douglas County’s gaming revenue took a dive into the red, Carson Valley casinos showed a slight increase of 1.35 percent to $8 million. The state includes East Fork Township and Carson City in those calculations.
Mother Nature is dishing up more of the same weather on this Thanksgiving eve. We’ve got partly sunny skies with a high temperature near 55 degrees in the forecast today. We’ll see some clouds tonight, and Thanksgiving, but that’s about it.
