May 30, 2014
A 3.99 magnitude earthquake hit southwest of Mount Patterson in the high country north of Bridgeport at 12:48 a.m. this morning. A dozen people reported feeling it. There is no report of damage this morning.
Douglas High School graduation is 5:30 p.m. today at the school’s softball field. The school will have more than 300 graduates walk today.
School is pretty much out for summer after today’s classes let out. That means no more school buses or school zones until August. It also means that motorists should watch for children as they are their way to parks, movie theaters and other attractions.
The first concert in the park is tonight in Minden. The band Heartache Tonight performs at 6:30 p.m. There’s lots of stuff happening this weekend, including the annual Kids Fishing Derby. For more information, pick up a copy of today’s Record-Courier, or visit http://www.recordcourier.com
Expect sunny skies becoming partly cloudy as the day wears on. Highs should be in the upper 70s, with the wind picking up to 10-15 mph in the afternoon.
