The R-C Morning Report for June 15

Genoa, Nev. — Dave Nelson and Larry Walsh will be our new county commissioners going into 2017. An issue counting absentee ballots delayed final Douglas County results being released until around 10 p.m.

Dozens of people packed the Douglas County Planning Commission meeting on Tuesday to support a special use permit for Between Horses and Humans. The group got both the use permit and a designation of being significant in the community.

We'll be checking on the cause of a fire that broke out in a Gardnerville apartment building on Tuesday evening. High winds and some juniper bushes contributed to its spread.

The fourth red flag warning in a week takes effect at 11 a.m., along with a wind advisory. Winds are expected to hit 20-30 mph this afternoon with gusts up to 45 mph. The high temperature will top out at 68 degrees. Expect another red flag warning on Thursday.
