Planning commissioners are scheduled to discuss amending the zoning code to allow the processing of craft foods or alcoholic beverages, including craft distilleries or brew pubs. The change would allow Chris Bently to turn the old Minden Mill into a craft whiskey distillery. Also on the agenda is a two-year extension of a development application to build a three-story, 116-7unit independent congregate senior living facility on Ironwood Drive. Planning commissioners meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the historic Douglas County Courthouse in Minden.
Douglas County School Board trustees have a new meeting spot in Stateline and a long meeting to acclimatize. On the agenda are an update on the search for a new home for the and a gift of more than $100,000 ASPIRE program. Also updates on the sale of Kingsbury Middle School and budget priorities for 2014. Trustees meet 3:30 p.m. at the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority, 169 Highway 50.
Expect it to be sunny, but hazy today with a high temperature of 51 degrees and a light afternoon wind out of the east. Looks like more of the same through Monday.
