The R-C Morning Report for June 10
June 10, 2014
The polls are open until 7 p.m. tonight, but I can guarantee you there aren’t many lines out this morning. Remember to go to your polling place to vote today. If you don’t know where that is, visit the Clerk-Treasurer’s web site at http://cltr.co.douglas.nv.us. According to the site, early voting and absentee results should be available at 7:30 p.m.
Douglas County School Board trustees will hear a report from Superintendent Lisa Noonan on her recommendations for Carson Valley’s middle schools beginning in 2015 when the freshman class returns to Douglas High School. The school board meets 3:30 p.m. today at Carson Valley Middle School.
There are 10 cases before District Judge Tod Young with the continued arraignment of David Gomez first up. Gomez missed his arraignment on Oct. 1, 2013, more than eight months ago on drug charges. He had a plea deal then. He might not have one today.
The Douglas County Bike Plan and a discussion on whether to allow medical marijuana establishments here is before Douglas County planning commissioners at their regular meeting 1 p.m. today in the chambers of the historic Douglas County Courthouse.
There’s a chance we’ll see some thunderstorms and isolated showers today after 2 p.m. Otherwise, expect mostly sunny skies and a high temperature near 90. There’s still a fire weather watch on the board for Thursday, but on the other side, temperatures drop into the upper 70s.
