In addition to appointments to various boards and commissions, Douglas County commissioners will be picking a chairman and vice chairman today at their 1 p.m. meeting. There is also an item in the consent agenda that deals with a $208,370 bid to build Muller Parkway over the Virginia Canal. Today’s meeting at the Douglas County Administrative Building in Minden times out at 3 hours and 10 minutes.
Gardnerville resident Kyle Jarboe is scheduled to appear in district court this morning for sentencing in three separate cases. Under a plea agreement, Jarboe faces a maximum of five years in prison after he admitted in November to trafficking and two probation violations stemming from his Aug. 16 arrest at a house in the Gardnerville Ranchos.
Whatever disturbance in the force that was going to bring us the slightest chance of rain has been delayed until Thursday. We’re looking at some clouds coming in tonight that will keep the lows up in the 20s. Expect today to be mostly sunny with a high temperature near 48.
