The R-C Morning Report for Jan. 31
February 4, 2014
Zephyr Cove Elementary students will be picked up at main bus stops only this morning, which included the stop at Tina and Ski courts for Kingsbury and Tramway children and the Glenbrook entrance.
Chains or snow tires are required on Highway 395 from Topaz to the junction with Highway 88 in Minden and over Highway 50 over Spooner Summit all the way to South Lake Tahoe. Chains or four-wheel drive are required from Meyers to Picketts Junction in Alpine County and then on 88 to Silver Lake.
We had more snow last night, but I’m not sure how much. There’s 4 inches of accumulation on the patio this morning. Heavenly is reporting 5 inches fell over night with 28 inches from the storm. We had 7 inches in Minden on Thursday with a water content of 1.4 inches.
Last night’s moisture is now pretty icy, and has left the roads pretty slick. Take it easy going to work this morning. Today’s forecast calls for scattered snow showers before 10 a.m. with the skies clearing. The high is supposed to get up to around 40 degrees.
