The restaurant and health inspections return to The R-C starting with Friday’s edition. Carson City has taken over the inspections from the state and will be sending them to us regularly. Our plan is to publish them on page 5 with other news of record.

The Douglas County Historical Society is hosting Dr. Gene Hattori tonight at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center. Hattori is the curator of Anthropology at the Nevada State Museum and will be talking about the petroglyphs at Winnemucca Lake. The lecture starts at 7 p.m. and is $3 for nonmembers.
A high wind watch returns to Western Nevada on Saturday. In the meantime expect somewhat cloudy skies with a chance of rain in the morning. High could get up into the 60s, with southwest winds 10-15 mph.
