The R-C Morning Report for Feb. 12

More than 80 Douglas County School District employees turned out for public comment at Tuesday's school board meeting to protest the break-down in negotiations between the district and the teachers association. I'll have a lot more on that later today.

It looks like the school district won't be closing a middle school anytime soon. Board members voted Tuesday night to keep Carson Valley and Pau-Wa-Lu middle schools open after the ninth-graders return to Douglas High School in 2015.

Douglas County Manager Steve Mokrohisky will be on the running commentary today at 10:30 a.m. Send any questions you have for him to

We've got a wind advisory starting at 10 a.m., which is presumably when the winds will pick up. Expect 20-30 mph winds blowing out of the southwest and gusting to 50 mph into tonight. Wind prone areas could hit 60 mph. If you're working on a computer, save often.
