The R-C Morning Report for Aug. 5
August 5, 2014
County managerpalooza continues today with a tour, where I’m sure someone will point out that it’s almost never like this in August. This afternoon, the candidates will speak with individual county commissioners before heading home.
The town boards of Gardnerville and Genoa meet today. Gardnerville board members will hear a request from The Ranch for changes to the subdivision going up north of town, while Genoans will hear about a new business model for the Cowboy Festival, which could include removing the festival part. Gardnerville meets starting at 4:30 p.m., Genoa kicks off at 6:30 p.m.
We may see some fog this morning before 9 a.m. as rainfall around the region has raised the humidity across Northern Nevada. It rained last night, hitting .1 inches in the north Valley and .3 inches in Carson. That number decreases as you go south. The radar shows a huge reverse spin with the moisture mostly north of Interstate 80 and moving east.
Today’s forecast is for scattered showers with a high temperature of 77 degrees. I apparently lied about summer being back on Friday, maybe next Monday.
