Mono County is investigating the discovery of what are believed to be human bones near the Casa Diablo Range down near Lake Crowley. Hikers stumbled on the remains on Saturday. They’re being tested to determine if they are indeed human.
Planning commissioners approved a major variance for the Pentacostal Church of God, located at 921 Mitch Drive in the Gardnerville Ranchos. The chief concern is parking, which is 33 spots short according to the county, but only 20 short according to the applicant. The request was approved by the Gardnerville Ranchos General Improvement District last week, and the neighbors have been supportive or quiet on the matter.
A little cloud cover last night kept the heat in, so it’s warm out this morning. Expect the high temperature to hit 73 today. Expect a gusty afternoon, with the wind out of the southwest 5-15 mph gusting to 25 mph.
