The R-C Morning Report for April 3
April 3, 2014
With budget hearings over, county commissioners get back to their regular work today, discussing the approval of $1.5 million in water bonds, funding the reconstruction of Vista Grande south of Mica Drive using $900,000 in redevelopment money and appointing Larry Werner interim county manager, among other things. Commissioners meet 1 p.m. at the historic Douglas County courthouse, 1616 Eighth St. in Minden.
The Nevada Highway Patrol is reporting a noninjury accident in the southbound lanes at Highway 395 and Topaz Lake at 6:50 a.m.
March didn’t provide any help at all in improving the water picture, but at least it provided some precipitation in the mountains. Caples Lake led the month with 78 percent average moisture for the month. So far, Ebbetts Pass is at 55 percent for this time of year, while Minden’s at 71 percent.
It doesn’t look like it now, but there’s a chance of scattered showers today after 11 a.m. The high will get up to 56 degrees with a breeze 5-10 mph in the afternoon. Supposed to be rain or snow on Friday.
