The R-C Morning Report for April 17
April 17, 2014
The Business Showcase will be at the Douglas County Fairgrounds starting 3 p.m. today. Best food and swag is usually distributed early. I will be at The R-C booth 6-7 p.m., after I clear Friday’s edition.
Perhaps to ensure county commissioners will be able to make it to Business Showcase, they’ve got a short agenda at Stateline today, timing out at less than an hour. The longest item is a two-year extension on a development schedule for a 24-unit project on a former 19-unit trailer park just south of Cave Rock Drive.
Also on the agenda is a clarification of interim County Manager Larry Werner’s contract, because it’s actually with Larry Werner LLC. Commissioners meet 1:30 p.m.
There’s a minor accident at Highway 395 and Johnson Lane that was reported around 7:30 a.m. No one is injured and both vehicles are off the road.
Today is forecast to be mostly sunny with a high temperature in the 70s. Expect it to be breezy with southwest winds 5-10 mph increasing to 10-15 mph and gusting to 25 mph.
