Chains or four-wheel drive are required to get over the Sierra on Highway 50 or Highway 88. Heavenly’s reporting an inch of snow fell last night after getting 7 inches since Sunday. Kingsbury Grade reported 6 inches of snow from the storm. We got a dusting on the west side of the Valley.

Douglas County commissioners will get to see the transportation plan when they meet 1 p.m. today, and will be asked to fund it somehow. Commissioners meet at the Historic Douglas County Courthouse, 1616 Eighth St., in Minden.

There may still be some snow left for the mountains today and tonight, with snow bands affecting the Sierra and Mineral County. Highway 395through Mono County and Highway 95 in Hawthorne will get most of it. Today’s high will hit 42, with a possible accumulation of around an inch.
