The R-C Morning Report
February 21, 2013
There are a couple of items of interest before Douglas County commissioners up at the Lake today, including a request by Gardnerville to transfer Eagle Gas to the town for a gateway and parking. Also Barton Health is seeking a piece of land at Kahle Park for a medical facility. Commissioners meet 1:30 p.m. at the Tahoe Transportation Center in Stateline.
It snowed early this morning leaving a dusting in the Valley. Road controls are in effect for Highway 395 through the Pine Nuts and on some Sierra roads. Heavenly got 2-3 inches of powdery snow last night. A National Weather Service statement reminds motorists that even a little bit of snow on the roads can turn slick.
I suspect we’ve already seen our scattered snow showers forecast for today before 10 a.m. Otherwise it will be partly sunny with a high near 44 degrees and wind out of the northeast at 5 mph.
