Genoa Town Board members recommended denial of festival permits for the Peddler’s Fair and Autumn Boutique on Tuesday night because they are on the same weekend and are in direct competition with Candy Dance. The permits go on to the county commission, where they’ve been approved in the past.
Minden Town Board members are being asked to waive fees on three events, including one from the Carson Valley Middle School Drama Club, which wants to use the CVIC Hall, the Esmeralda Farmer’s Market, and the 28th annual Minden Spring Arts and Crafts Festival. The town board meets starting at 5:30 p.m., with the action agenda starting at 6:30 p.m.
The U.S. Forest Service will be burning at Lake Tahoe near Logan Shoals and Spooner Summit. Crews will be burning about 10 acres a day through the week at Spooner, so we may see a plume.
The National Weather Service keeps raising the ante on whether we’ll see snow on Thursday and Friday. They’ve backed off on the accumulation, but the likelihood of snow showers has increased. Enjoy today’s sunshine and temperatures in the upper 50s, because that will be all we get for a week or more.
