The R-C Morning Report

by Kurt Hildebrand

It’s soupy out after what I believe is the first night of 2013 that didn’t see overnight temperatures drop below freezing. That we’re getting a little rain, too, isn’t helping. A trace fell overnight.

The snow levels are very high, so the only road controls are over Carson Pass on Highway 88 and the Mount Rose Highway. There’s a ton of accidents and incidents on Interstate 80 between Elko and Wells, where there’s a winter-weather advisory, but otherwise it’s pretty quiet out.

We’re looking at scattered showers this morning with a high temperature of 50 degrees. Don’t get too attached, though, snow is back in the forecast for the Valley on Sunday.
