The R-C Morning Report
January 2, 2013
The swearing in of elected officials is 10 a.m. today in District Judge Michael Gibbons’ courtroom. We don’t have a county commission meeting this week, because state law requires them to meet on the first Monday of the year, which just happens to be Jan. 7.
The honor of first meeting of 2013 goes to the Minden Town Board, which will discuss modification of the Carson Valley Inn’s permit to include a special events center and restricting times for large events to 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and small events from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Town board members meet at 5:30 p.m. in the CVIC Hall. The action agenda starts at 6:30 p.m.
It’s quite cold outside with my thermometer reading 2 degrees. The National Weather Service forecast freezing fog before 10 a.m., but I can see lights across the Valley, so there’s not too much here at least. It will be otherwise sunny with a high near 32 degrees. We’ll see a solid inversion, so don’t be surprised if it gets a little hazy in the Valley.
