The R-C Morning Report
December 12, 2012
East Fork medics and Douglas County deputies are at the scene of an accident about a quarter mile east of the Jacks Valley Fire Station in Alpine View. Repors from the scene are that a white Ford Explorer containing a mother and infant is on its side. Paramedics say they can handle the accident with the rescue on scene. The call time was about 6:30 a.m. No major injuries are reported as a result of the accident. Deputies advising that part of Jacks Valley Road is extremely icy.
The Douglas County Planning Commission is having a rare Wednesday meeting today to discuss a 30-unit senior housing complex on Stodick Parkway in Gardnerville. Planning commissioners will also hear an update on the status of the Douglas County Lands Bill from Jacques Etchegoyhen. Planning commissioners meet 1 p.m. in the courtroom of the historic Douglas County courthouse.
It’s snowing and sticking on this side of the Valley, and if the accident is any indication it’s probably pretty slick out there. My thermometer is reading 33 degrees, but it’s probably colder in some of the higher elevations. We’re supposed to be getting snow until around 4 p.m. today, with a daytime accumulation of around an inch.
