Genoa Town Board members voted to recommend the naming of the southern most lookout point after Summerwinds Resorts Marketing Director Kaylin Pippin, who died of breast cancer last month. Kaylin’s Point of View will have a bench and interpretive sign donated by Walley’s Hot Springs should all go well. The Genoa Vista Point dedication was set for Jan. 26.
Minden Town Board members will conduct a design review for a 19,831-square-foot tractor supply store at highways 88 and 395. The project will include 15,000 square feet of fenced outdoor display area and a retail area. The Town Board meets in the CVIC Hall starting at 5:30 p.m. The action begins at 6:30 p.m.
There’s a three-hour hearing this morning for accused stalker Michael Meisler in order to deal with a stack of motions before Meisler’s January trial.
It’s raining heavily on the west side right now, and it looks like the storm will be with us through the morning. The snow level is between 6,500 and 7,000 feet. A winter weather advisory is in effect for Truckee south to Markleeville. Chains or snow tires are required over Carson Pass and on the Mount Rose Highway.
