The R-C Morning Report

Today is the last day to participate in the Douglas County budget challenge online at Select “Budget Challenge” on the left side of the screen. Complete the online registration. The physical address will allow responses from geographic areas within the county to be viewed, but the county and public cannot see the names of individual participants.

Two delayed sentencings are back in district court this morning. Admitted church embezzler Tracey L. Taylor and ex-felon caught with a hand gun Tony Gonsalves are both due in court today, though it’s entirely possible both cases will be continued again. Taylor, 45, faces up to 10 years in prison on the embezzlement charge, but will likely be placed on probation in an effort to recover the money. Gonsalves, 41, got a new lawyer last week. He faces up to five years in prison.

The sun should be with us most of the day today, with the forecast calling for partly sunny skies and a high temperature near 54 degrees. There won’t be much wind for a change as well. Enjoy it while it lasts, another rain storm is headed this way on Tuesday night.
