Douglas County commissioners will meet 9 a.m. today to certify the results of the 2012 general election. Also on the agenda is the permit for the 17th annual Parade of Lights, which is set for 3-8 p.m. Dec. 1 and starting in Heritage Park.
Planning commissioners meet at 1 p.m. to discuss allowing special events at historic residential properties with a special use permit. They’ll also be talking about updating the Planning Commission rules and regs. Both bodies meet at the historic Douglas County Courthouse, 1616 Eighth St., in Minden.

A Bodie Flats man faces up to 10 years in prison for striking his brother with a hatchet handle during an Aug. 15 altercation. Don Beckerdite, 56, admitted one count of battery with a deadly weapon in Douglas County District Court in September.
Today will look a lot like Monday, with a high temperature today of 56 under mostly sunny skies and below freezing temperatures tonight. Showers are still in the forecast starting Thursday night.
