The R-C Morning Report
October 24, 2012
Early voting moves to the Gardnerville Ranchos Fire Station on Mitch Drive today. The polls there will be open 3-6:30 p.m. Voters may also cast their ballot at the historic Douglas County Courthouse in Minden. On Thursday, early voting goes to Johnson Lane.
Whatever we end up getting this morning isn’t going to compare with Tuesday’s storm. So far I see stars outside instead of clouds. There may be up to 1-3 inches of snow in the Carson Range, where a winter weather advisory remains in effect. The storm total from Tuesday night was .45 inches north of Genoa.
The only road control in Douglas County is on Highway 50 at Lake Tahoe where chains or snow tires are required. The passes are still requiring chains, except for four-wheel drive vehicles. They’re doing a chain check on trucks on Interstate 80.
