The R-C Morning Report

The county is breaking ground on the new community & senior center at 10 a.m. today. They’ll be doing an Oktoberfest-themed celebration with the ceremony starting at 11 a.m. and wrapping up around noon. The fun will be located across from Lampe Park along Waterloo Lane.

While they’ll be celebrating good news just down the lane, the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension will be holding a drought workshop starting at 9 a.m. in the extension offices. The long-term forecast for a warm, dry winter is not good news at all for farmers and ranchers.

Today’s forecast is for sunny with a high of 78. The wind will be out of the west 5-10 mph, increasing to 10-15 mph in the afternoon. Saturday’s going to be blustery as the system starts to ease in and the temperatures begin to drop.
