More than 70 people turned out at a candidates’ forum on Tuesday night to hear Douglas County School Board, East Fork Swimming Pool Board, candidates for Congress and those for Douglas County commissioner speak on Tuesday night. The event was sponsored by the Good Governance Group.
I’m not sure how long Highway 88 was closed last night because I had to go to the candidates’ forum at 6:30 p.m., but it is open this morning with no controls. I’ll follow up with the Nevada Highway Patrol to find out what happened and how long the road was closed.
A proposal for Douglas County to use the Indian Hills General Improvement District boardroom for a senior lunch program twice a week is on the district’s agenda tonight. Indian Hills trustees meet 6 p.m. at 3394 James Lee Park Road.
We’re in for a slight change in the weather today as the wind shifts from west to east bringing cooler temperatures. Expect a high temperature today of 68 and a low at or near freezing tonight. We may see some more precipitation early next week.
