The Nevada Highway Patrol responded to an injury accident at Spooner Junction earlier this morning. The accident occurred in the eastbound lanes of highways 50 an 28 at 4:45 a.m.

Bureau of Land Management firefighters are continuing to work in the area of the Carter Springs fire in the Pine Nuts. On Wednesday, there were multiple reports that the fire was still burning, which the BLM confirmed is true in spots, though it remains within its perimeter.

Today is the last day to purchase tickets to Saturday’s Genoa Candy Dance dinner. Tickets to the dance will be available until it begins. To find out more or purchase tickets, call 782-8696.

The weather today is forecast to be sunny with a high temperature in the lower 80s. There’s a chance of thunderstorms on Friday.
