Snow falling in Genoa, chain controls in Valley

Lake effect snows have dumped 2 inches of snow in Carson Valley around Genoa this morning, and are expected to continue through 10 a.m. today.
Chains or snow tires are required on Highway 395 from the Douglas County line to nearly Holbrook Junction. Both Kingsbury Grade and Highway 50 also have chain controls, as do all roads at Lake Tahoe.
The NHP is reporting several accidents and motorist assists around Western Nevada, mostly in Washoe County.
Chains or four-wheel drive are required over the Sierra, including Donner, Echo Summit and Carson Pass.
A foot of snow fell at Ebbetts Pass as of midnight Thursday. Heavenly Valley reported 7 inches of snow from the same storm.
