We’ll follow up on the big fire in Chambers Field that claimed Mashelle Begovich’s home last night. No one was reported injured in the fire that broke out at 9 p.m.
County commissioners are meeting at 11:30 a.m. today at the Emergency Operations Center to hear a presentation by the Pontifex Consulting Group on the East Fork Fire & Paramedic District Wage and Compensation study.
Planning commissioners approved an addition to the Douglas County code that will allow craft distilleries, and other similar businesses devoted to craft spirts and foods. They also approved a two-year extension for a three-story, 116-unit independent congregate senior living facility on Ironwood Drive.
The Nevada Highway Patrol responded to a noninjury accident on Highway 50 inside the westbound tunnel of Cave Rock at Lake Tahoe. The accident was reported at 5:40 a.m. It’s still on their website, so expect some delay there for this morning’s commute.
The weather copy machine is cranking out forecasts for the next week. Today will see widespread haze, sunny skies and a high near 54. The wind will be out of the east at 5 mph. Cut and paste that forecast into Thursday through Tuesday, and you get the picture.
