Police seek man who stabbed, killed South Lake resident

Police are seeking the man responsible for the stabbing death of 28-year-old South Lake Tahoe resident Julian Acevedo Salvador early Saturday morning near Americana Village Suites on Pioneer Trail.
The incident was reported at about 3:30 a.m. when someone flagged down firefighters who were on their way to an unrelated medical call.
Firefighters told police there was a man lying on the ground along Pioneer Trail with a small crowd of people in the general vicinity.
When police arrived they found Salvador had already been transported by family members to the hospital
Those who remained said he had been stabbed during a fight and was bleeding profusely, according to information released by the City of South Lake Tahoe.
Soon afterward police learned that Salvador had been delivered to the emergency room of Barton Memorial Hospital in South Lake Tahoe. Medical officials confirmed he had been stabbed in the torso area and died despite resuscitation efforts.
Authorities are seeking a white male adult in his early 20s. According to the preliminary investigation, the stabber was walking westbound on Pioneer Trail when he encountered a trio of men talking near Americana Village.
A confrontation turned into a fight and the attacker used an edged weapon to stab Salvador in the side. The man was able to flee the area without being identified. Police say there's no indication of gang involvement in the incident.
