No major injuries reported in head-on accident

A Carson City woman was helicoptered to Reno with nonlife-threatening injuries after she was involved in a near head-on collision on March 26.

Alisa Chighizola, 23, was driving a gray Honda hatchback on Highway 395 when she allegedly crossed the centerline and collided with the left side of a silver Jeep, according to Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Dan Lopez.

The accident was reported at about 6:48 p.m. The driver of the Jeep, Carson City resident Brenda Holcomb, 46, was treated by medics at the scene.

Chighizola was taken by CareFlight to Renown Regional Medical Center with a head injury.

Lopez reminded drivers to always wear their seatbelts.
