New Little Misses crowned

Special to the R-CPageant contestants ages 6 to 15 years old. Back; Ivy Lyn Armstrong, Amanda Geraldo, Cora Hoggard, Hannah Gingrich, Isabelle DuPont-Moore, Mikayla Cloney. Middle; Phaedra Morgan, Natalia Baldauskas, Grace DuPont-Moore, Isabelle Collins, Alina Munsdeane, Lillie McKinney. Front; Josephine Cliffe, Lizzy Midkiff, and Ella DuPont-Moore.

The eighth annual Little Miss Douglas County Pageant on Feb. 23 crowned new royalty.

The 25 contestants competed for titles in ages 6 months to 15 years old.

“Our adorable baby contestants up to 5 years old came out on stage Saturday morning in their party dresses,” organizer Lisa Prosser said. “We added two optional categories this year, photogenic and model-outfit of choice which was very entertaining. The judges had a tough job.”

The 2013 Baby Pageant winners were: Baby Miss, 16-month-old Dani Kay Wyman; Wee Miss, 3-year-old Harlow Krupp; and Tiny Miss, 5-year-old Aaliyah Mosby.

The model-outfit of choice winner was Aaliyah Mosby.

Contestants 6 years and up competed Saturday afternoon in interview, party wear, talent, and two new optional categories, photogenic and model-outfit of choice.

The 2013 Queens for the Little Miss Pageant were: Little Miss Douglas County, 8-year-old Phaedra Morgan; Little Miss Carson Valley, 9-year-old Grace DuPont-Moore; Petite Miss, 9-year-old Natalia Baldauskas; Jr. Miss, 12-year-old Amanda Geraldo; Teen Miss, 13-year-old Mikayla Cloney, and overall high point winner 9- year-old Lillie McKinney.

The photogenic winner was 12-year-old Ivy Lyn Armstrong, and model-outfit of choice winner was 9-year-old Natalia Baldauskas.

“It was an exciting day,” Prosser said. “Watch for our float in the Carson Valley Days Parade.”
