Minden set to discuss town manager

Minden town board members are holding a public hearing 6:30 p.m. Wednesday to discuss qualities they seek in a new manager.
The public is invited to the meeting at the CVIC Hall, 1602 Esmeralda Ave. No action is to be taken, but the board will accept public comment on the qualifications they are looking for in the position.
Applications for the job, available on the Douglas County human resources Web site, are due Sept. 23. So far, eight people have applied.
The salary range is $73,403 and $99,756.
Requirements for the position include a bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, finance, accounting, or related field with at least five years of progressively responsible experience in a municipal setting. A master’s degree, experience working with an elected board, and a strong financial and water background are desired, or a combination of education and experience.
