Man arrested in credit card theft
September 15, 2012
A Gardnerville man was arrested Monday after his girlfriend of three weeks reported that her debit card was missing, as was all the money from her bank account.
Joshua Jeffrey Holmboe, 40, is being held on a count of fraudulent use of a credit card after the victim said she checked her bank account and found it empty after she couldn’t find her card.
She told deputies Holmboe liked to gamble, so they checked security video at a Minden casino and she was able to identify him.
Several hours later deputies received a report from one of the victim’s friends that Holmboe was walking along Highway 395 near Johnson Lane, where he was taken into custody. He appeared on Sept. 12 in East Fork Justice Court where Kris Brown was appointed to represent him. He’s scheduled to return to court on Wednesday.
Holmboe is being held in Douglas County Jail on $10,000 bail.
