No Place Like Home Senior Care has been offering free monthly Red Cross family caregiving classes at its office in Gardnerville for over a year. “We have been able to assist members of our community in learning how to better assist their loved ones,” said Rick Ackerson, owner of No Place Like Home Senior Care. “We have taken it a step further realizing it is difficult for some family members to attend classes.”No Place Like Home is now offering the public an option for family caregivers to learn more themselves by accessing the Family Learning Center powered by aQuire Training. The free resource is specifically designed for family members who provide any type of direct care or support. These courses can be accessed via the Internet and do not require attending classes. There are 40 courses geared for those who are family caregivers, or who just want to better understand the process of aging, communication, diseases, memory loss and other issues.“We know that many families have options for care,” said Ackerson. “This is why our staff also has access to aQuire Training specifically developed for the professional caregiver in addition to all of the state required training.”To access this resource visit http://www.NvNoPlaceLikeHome.com and click on the “Family Learning” tab.No Place Like Home Senior Care is a nonmedical home care agency serving Douglas County, South Lake Tahoe, Carson City, Dayton, Silver Springs, Yerington, Smith Valley, Coleville, Markleeville, and Reno, providing a wide range of in-home care services.
