Genoa’s Sweet Sippin’ Sunday to benefit Austin’s

Genoa’s Sweet Sippin’ Sundays continue on Aug. 5 from 1 to 4 p.m.
The theme for August is rum cocktails, and proceeds will benefit Austin’s House. The cost is $10 for a keepsake glass handcrafted right in Genoa and a passport to sample a rum drink at each participating business. There will also be live music and raffle prizes.
The Greater Genoa Business Association is the host for Sweet Sippin’ Sundays. Businesses participating in the event are Trimmer’s Outpost, Genoa Bar, Genoa Trading Company, Historic Genoa Ghost Tours, Genoa Country Inn, David Walley’s, The Orchard House, Genoa Floral Creations, Silverheels Boutique, Tombstone Tap and Grill, Genoa Country Store, The Dancing Deer, Sweet Repeats, Genoa Station Bar & Grille, Rustic Romance and Buona Sera.
Sweet Sippin’ Sundays are held on the first Sunday of each month through October.

Austin’s House is the only emergency children’s shelter in rural Northern Nevada. Austin’s House provides services and care for up to 10 children from infants to age 18. The children are placed at Austin’s House after being removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect. Austin’s House provides the basic living necessities including proper nutrition, hygiene, rest, nurturing, recreation, companionship, life skills training and education. The facility depends on continued generous support from the community to keep the doors open.
