Fake FEMA reps spotted on Foothill
October 2, 2012
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of two men traveling in a black SUV, identifying themselves as Federal Emergency Management Agency officers.
A Foothill Road resident said she was contacted at 5 p.m. Monday by the pair who wanted to go in her backyard and do a global positioning system reading.
They had no identification, and a check with Douglas County Community Development determined no FEMA representatives in the area.
Sgt. Jim Halsey urged anyone who comes in contact to immediately notify the sheriff’s office at 782-5126.
