East Fork units called to help with Washoe Valley fire

East Fork fire units have been called to aid in fighting a 5-10-acre brush fire near Clark Drive in New Washoe City.
The fire was reported at 1:30 p.m. and is being fought by eight engines from the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District, Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service and the Nevada Division of Forestry.
Structures are threatened, according to the Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch, and there is word that homes in the area have been evacuated.
As of 1:30 p.m. there is no estimate of containment or control.
High winds prompted the issuance of a red flag warning by the National Weather Service.
