Staff Reports

A convoy of 20 semi trucks make their way to Carson Valley United Methodist Church on Friday for trucking company owner Gordon Campbell's funeral service.

A convoy of more than 20 semi trucks stopped traffic on Highway 395 today in memory of GM Trucking owner Gordon Campbell who died April 23 after a battle with cancer.

The drivers from around Northern Nevada paid their respects at Campbell's funeral service at Carson Valley United Methodist Church.

"Gordon was a great guy," friend Sami Neighbors said as she watched the trucks turn the corner at State Route 756. "He would do anything for anybody, and we all are going to miss him."

Campbell's girlfriend of 27 years, Mashelle Begovich, teared up as she watched the procession.

Today was Begovich's first time out of the house since being released from the hospital May 6.

"It's unbelievable," she whispered through her trachea tube. "I'm so grateful."
