Community access TV has board openings

There are soon to be five vacancies on the board overseeing Douglas County’s community access television station, DCCA-TV. An election is slated Tuesday.

The annual meeting of the Douglas County Community Access Television (DCCA-TV) board of directors will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, at the upstairs meeting room at the CVIC Hall, 1604 Esmeralda Ave., in Minden.

Five seats with terms that run through Dec. 31, 2005, are open, and one other seat on the board currently expires on Dec. 31, 2004. According to Station Manager Tammy James, 11 directors serve on the community access station.

The board will also consider a change to the bylaws to allow board members to serve more than two full terms.

The proposed revision states that elected directors shall serve two-year terms.

Other items for discussion may also be presented at the meeting.

Current directors include Chairman Bob Chambers, Linda Deacy, Michael Harrison, Susan Onizuka and Suzanne Rosevold.
