Carson man sentenced in theft
January 18, 2013
A Carson City man with several prior theft convictions admitted to a charge of misdemeanor theft on Wednesday.
Lucus John Lombardo, 36, told East Fork Justice Tom Perkins that he went to the Walmart to get his son a cake.
“I had enough money for the cake, but I got greedy,” he said. “I got toys and then got hit at the door and dropped the stuff and left. It was a stupid thing to do. I tried to make my son’s birthday better. I made it worse.”
Prosecutor Maria Pence pointed out that this was Lombardo’s fifth instance of theft from the Walmart and asked that he be sentenced to 90 days in jail.
Defense attorney Tod Young said his client was employed and is working to support his four children. Perkins sentenced Lombardo to 90 days in jail, suspending all but two.
