Annual charity king crab feed is Aug. 15

Amy and Dustin Cinciala serve crab last year at Jethro’s All 4 Charity King Crab Feed and Steak Cookout.

The fifth annual Jethro's Charity King Crab Feed & Steak Cookout is 6-10 p.m. Aug. 15 at Jethro's Oven & Grille, 1281 Kimmerling Road in the Gardnerville Ranchos.

Tickets are $40 for king crab (one pound) and $30 for ribeye steak (12 ounces) with all the trimmings. Tickets can be purchased at Jethro's, Saletti's Restaurant or the Douglas County Parks & Recreation Department.

There will be a raffle, auction and live music by Groove Session.

The annual Jethro's Charity King Crab & Steak Cookout began in 2009, and during the past four events $71,000 was raised and donated to worthy programs in Carson Valley including The Boys & Girls Club of Carson Valley, Back Pack Buddies, Suicide Prevention Network of Douglas County, Strawberry Fields Animal Rescue, Douglas County Senior Center, Sertoma and more.

This year the recipients of the proceeds are The Douglas County Community Center Scholarship Program (for children and seniors), the new, soon-to-be opened FISH (Friends In Service Helping) dining room in the Ranchos, Douglas High Volleyball and MEFIYI (Me for Incredible Youth).

The Cinciala family, Jethro's Oven & Grille and many local volunteers host the event. The goal this year is to raise $30,000 for the chosen recipients.

Jethro's Charity King Crab & Steak Event Committee is comprised of longtime Carson Valley residents who are committed to supporting worthy organizations providing vital services to the community.
