Man sought in Thursday night robbery

Authorities are seeking the man who tried to rob the Lucky Liquor in Gardnerville on Thursday night.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, the would-be robber came into the store at about 8:30 p.m. wearing a red bandana and wielding a semi-automatic pistol and demanded money.

The clerk hit the alarm button, and the robber fled the store after grabbing a bottle of liquor from a shelf.

The man is described as Hispanic, 30-35 years old, 6-feet tall, and weighing 250 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black jacket with a hood and black shorts.

The clerk said the man ran east down Toler with a second man, whom he couldn’t describe.
