A joint venture between two aviation companies was celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
The ceremony took place 11 a.m. Monday at Minden-Tahoe Airport.
Tahoe Aviation is a venture by APRI Aviation Inc. and Falcon Aerospace, providing aeronautical and aviation services for the West Coast.
APRI President Arnold Peterson said he anticipated the addition of several support personnel and a new 26,000-square-foot hangar.
Falcon Aerospace is the leading supplier and distributor of standard and nonstandard metals in the aerospace and defense industries, according to its website.
Its home office and warehouse are located in Fountain Valley, Calif.
APRI is an aviation services company which provides leased hangar space, mechanical maintenance, aircraft sales, service and management to the corporate aircraft community, according to a statement issued by Douglas County.
Sierra Sotheby’s acquires McCall Realty
Sierra Sotheby’s International Realty announced the acquisition of the Zephyr Cove and South Lake Tahoe offices of McCall Realty, which has been in business since 1981.
Sierra Sotheby’s now has offices in South Lake Tahoe, Zephyr Cove, Incline Village, and Squaw Valley.
“Joining forces with the industry’s leading real estate brand and organization will help us to provide an even higher level of service to our established clientele,” said Thane McCall, the former owner of McCall Realty.

The combined firm has 400 broker and support staff associates, and in 2013 will close more than 4,000 transactions valued at nearly $3 billion.
MontBleu appoints new general manager
Stephen Ditchkus, a 25-year hotel and gaming industry veteran, was appointed general manager at MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa, a Tropicana Entertainment Inc. property.
Ditchkus most recently was chief operating officer at Lac Courte Oreilles Casino and Lodge, a 300-employee property in Hayward, Wisc., where he guided the resort to a nearly 80 percent income growth in slots, table games, food and beverage, bingo and lodging.
His casino management background provided leadership roles in Nevada, Mississippi and Louisiana. Ditchkus cites a commitment to personal customer service as key to promoting and positioning the property as a leading gaming, entertainment and dining venue in Tahoe South. His plans are designed to complement Tahoe’s outdoor appeal with the property’s indoor amenities with an emphasis on gaming.
His gaming experience began at Lake Tahoe in 1988 where he saw a future flush with possibilities in hospitality, gaming and hotel management. He pursued his career and gained first-hand experience in all phases of operations.
“Our plan is to combine the spectacular attractions of Lake Tahoe with the amenities of the property, with a focus on the gaming experience,” said Ditchkus. “It’s a great time to be back in Tahoe with the destination moving forward with all its improvements for visitors and locals, alike.”
Ditchkus is responsible for all casino and hotel management for MontBleu including its 45,000-square-foot casino, 437-room hotel, 16,000-square-foot Onsen Spa, two nightclubs, three lounges, convention center, 1,700-seat showroom, 5,200 seasonal outdoor venue, Four-Diamond Ciera Steak + Chophouse and two restaurants that provide guests with a full-blown 24/7 high-energy resort experience.
He is a native of New Jersey and graduated from Florida State University. Ditchkus and his wife Kristin have two girls Alexis, 16 and Katie, 12.
