The casinos in Stateline had a strong September, raking in a $22.18 million win, which is 23 percent better than the same month in 2012.
The main source of Douglas County’s gaming revenue is up 9 percent for the first quarter for the year, with $75.98 million.
The first quarter was not as kind to casinos in the capital and East Fork Township. Those casinos posted a 2 percent decrease for the quarter compared to the first quarter of 2012. During September, Carson Valley area casinos were down 4.17 percent to $8.4 million. So far casinos in Carson City and Douglas took in $25. million.
Nominations sought for Anytime Fitness scholarships
Anytime Fitness in Gardnerville is accepting nominations for its inaugural scholarship program. Between Through Dec. 15 the gym is accepting nominations to award a one-year gym membership, with four personal training sessions included to three deserving community members. To nominate someone, stop by Anytime Fitness at 1352 Highway 395 during business hours 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday.

WISE meets Nov. 21
Women Inspiring Service and Education is holding their monthly meeting and luncheon Nov. 21 at Carson Valley Inn.
The monthly meeting is an opportunity for members and guests to meet, greet, and network. John Carne of the Project Santa Claus will speak.
Check-in time is 11-11:30 a.m. The meeting begins at 11:45, and ends promptly at 1 p.m. Cost is $15 for members, $20 for nonmembers.
