The R-C Morning Report for Oct. 15

Friends in Service Helping is holding a fundraiser next month to open a Carson Valley dining room in the Gardnerville Ranchos next summer. The format is a mini-roast and individuals are raising bail. According to FISH, they need to raise $50,000 to get the ball rolling. The location is yet to be determined, but will be someplace near the intersection of Tillman Lane and Kimmerling Road. The charity operates a thrift store in Gardnerville.

There are signs up on Silver Strike Lanes saying they’ll reopen soon, and we’ve heard the management company is contacting former employees asking if they would be willing to come back to work. Carson Valley Times posted a letter from Jericho Management that we are working to obtain as well.

It was well below freezing out this morning, and looks like it’s going to stay that way through the week. Today expect sunny skies and a high temperature near 59 degrees. The wind will be 5-10 mph out of the east.
