Tight-knit community donates 185 hats

During its grand opening in April, Pioneer Yarn Company owner Jennifer Huntley asked customers to help make 100 hats by Sept. 1 to be donated to people in need. Community members went above and beyond, knitting and crocheting 185 hats. “We were surprised and very happy at the number of hats, and overwhelmed by how much personality was put into each one,” Huntley said. “Carson Valley is amazingly generous .It’s important for all of us to give back to the community.” On Friday, the hats were given to Family Support Council, Carson Valley Senior Living and Project Santa Claus.
