There’s a brown Ford pickup on its passenger side blocking both lanes of Highway 89 south of Markleeville that was reported at 5:30 a.m. There’s no sign of the occupants, nor have they been located at area hospitals. Woodfords Tow was on its way at 7:07 a.m.
A bed and breakfast seeking a special use permit in the East Valley will go before the Douglas County Planning Commission at 1 p.m.today. Marie Soucie plans to hold weddings and other events on the property at 1700 Buckthorn Court. The neighbors have expressed some concern about the use. Planning commissioners meet at the old Douglas Courthouse 1616 Eighth St.
Final enrollment numbers and Kingsbury Middle School are on today’s school board agenda. The board meets at Zephyr Cove Library starting at 3:30 p.m. today.
