Candlelight vigil honors domestic violence victims

Although attendance was lower than expected at Tuesday night’s candlelight vigil, organizers are looking forward to next year. Close to 30 community members attended the Family Support Council event in honor of domestic violence awareness month. “It was a beautiful ceremony,” event coordinator Jenn Forzani said. “Our survivor’s story was moving to say the least. She showed an amazing amount of grace and confidence considering where she is coming from.” Sheriff Ron Pierini, Pastor Rich Lammay and Father Nathan Mamo spoke during the ceremony. “The sheriff talked a lot about how we have progressed in Douglas County over the years,” …
