The R-C Morning Report for Oct. 1

Gardnerville town board members will be asked to give the go-ahead on a plan for the former Eagle Gas Station and to pursue possible funding sources based on the public input at the September public workshop. The town will also hear a request from the school district to divide Gardnerville Elementary School’s parcel. The town board meets 4:30 p.m. today.

While we haven’t heard from the operators of Silver Strike Bowling Lane, a lot of our sources are saying the Gardnerville Ranchos bowling alley shut its doors Monday. We’ve made efforts to contact the owners. There are a lot of people in the Valley who would be happy if it wasn’t true.

The California Highway Patrol is reporting that Tioga Pass Road at the gate into Yosemite is closed along with the federal government as of 5:33 a.m.

Expect today to be sunny with the high hitting 75 degrees. The southwest wind will pick up in the morning 5-10 mph, increasing to 10-15 mph in the afternoon, gusting to 25 mph.
